We welcome the trial of any of our instruments. We will gladly ship any instrument to you for a one week (7 days) trial period. At the end of the one week trial period, you will have the option to either purchase the instrument or return it back to us. Please note that the customer assumes full responsibility for the condition of the instruments while they are on the trial period.

SHIPPING POLICY:

Dixon Strings will cover the costs of getting any instruments to you for the instrument trial period (7 days). However, it is your responsibility to cover the shipping costs of returning any instrument that you do not purchase back to Dixon Strings.

WARRANTY POLICY:

Dixon Strings guarantees that any instrument we sell will be free of defects in materials and craftsmanship. Normal wear and tear of the instrument and basic maintenance is not covered under this policy.

WARRANTY OF REPAIRS:

Dixon Strings stands behind the repairs done on an instrument and strives to be fair in the continuing maintenance of that instrument. Dixon Strings warrants any repair done by us for 5 years from the date of the repair. This does not include normal wear and tear such as soundpost adjustments, open seams, bridge warping, fingerboard planing, cracks, etc. Please contact us for more information about our warranty of repairs policy.

TRADE-IN-POLICY:

Trade-in policy for full-sized instruments:

If the instrument was originally purchased from Dixon Strings, we accept trade-ins of the instrument at the original sales price (excludes bows and cases) less a reconditioning fee with the following conditions:

1) The trade must be of like instruments (i.e. violin to violin).
2) The trade is for an instrument of greater value.
3) The trade instrument has been reasonably well-maintained and has not suffered any significant damage.
4) Receipts from the original sale must be provided by the customer.

Instruments will incur reconditioning fees in order to bring them up to our standards for resale and warranty.
Our reconditioning fees are as follows:
Violins: $200.00
Violas: $250.00
Cellos: $300.00
Basses: $350.00
(Any exceptions to these policies/fees are at the sole discretion of Dixon Strings, Inc.)

Trade-in policy for fractional-sized instruments:

When trading in fractional sized instruments, you can expect the following depreciation from the original instrument purchase price that includes the cost associated with restoring the trade-in instrument to a sellable condition:
Fractional Violins: $200.00
Fractional Violas: $200.00
Fractional Cellos: $300.00
(Cases and bows are purchased separately and do not retain any trade-in value.)

Dixon Strings sells consignment instruments and would be happy to consider consigning any instrument. We cannot guarantee trade-in value towards the purchase of consignment instruments.
